Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) under the patronage of Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General Rohitha Dharmasiri ndu psc is conducting number of social welfare activities to facilitate civilians in Wanni area.
As one such event, troops under 213 Brigade under the direction of Commander 213 Brigade Colonel Rasika Kumara psc organised a donation programme of distributing spectacles and Sil clothes for civilians in Mahavilachchiya, Pemaduwa area on 9 January 2020.
Over 130 civilians having eye defects were provided with spectacles after appearing them for an eye check up conducted by Vision Care Anuradhapura Branch while more than 75 selected civilians who are observing Sil in each month in Pemaduwa and Mahavilachchiya areas were provided with Sil clothes.
The Donation programme was sponsored by Mrs Lalani Liyanage, and Mr Nandalal Malagoda together with his wife veteran actress Mrs Suvineetha Weerasinghe and the event was coordinated by General Officer Commanding of 21 Division Major General Kumar Jayapathirane RSP through his personal affiliation.
Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General Rohitha Dharmasiri made his presence for the occasion as the chief guest.
General Officer Commanding 21 Division Major General Kumar Jayapathirane RSP Mr Nandalal Malagoda together with his wife veteran actress Mrs Suvineetha Weerasinghe, , Mrs Lalani Liyanage,the Manager of Vision Care Anuradhapura Branch Mr Ranjith Suminda, Commander 212 Brigade Colonel Anil Peiris RSP USP psc, Commander 213 Brigade Colonel Rasika Kumara psc, representatives of governments institutions, family members of beneficiaries and villagers in Pemaduwa area too were present at the occasion.
