In view of extending a helping hand to uplift the living standards of residents in Puleliya village, a donation programme got underway on 17 February 2021 at Kiralagala Purana Viharaya with the participation of the Deputy Registrar and the Head of the Pirivena of Asgiri Chapter Narampanawe Ananda.
During this programme, 10 temples received their necessities which are underprivileged and 97 families from Puleliya village, 181 students of Daham Pasal were received dry ration packets and school accessories respectively. Afterwards, a donation programme took place for 21 inmates at Neriyakulam Salvatorian Children's Home. This programme was materialized on the contribution made by the Deputy Registrar and the Head of the Pirivena of Asgiri Chapter Narampanawe Ananda thero for the 33 years commemoration ceremony of late Anunayaka thero of Asgiri Chapter Halyale Sri Sumanathissa.
This community programme was organised with the guidance of the Commander Security Force (Wanni), Major General DMHD Bandara RWP RSP USP and General Officer Commanding 21 Infantry Division, Major General HLVM Liyanage RWP RSP ndu. This event was implemented by 5 (V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry, under the supervision of Commander 213 Infantry Brigade.The Commander 213 Infantry brigade, the Chief Instructor Battalion Training School Bogoda, the Commanding Officer, 5 (V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry and a group of officers and Other Ranks graced the Occasion.
