The Security Forces Headquarters (Wanni) facilitated the donation of a laptop computer to Miss R. Samanthi, a third-year student of the Faculty of Information Technology at the University of Ruhuna, in support of her ongoing higher education.
The initiative was coordinated under the guidance of the Commander, Security Forces Headquarters (Wanni), Major General K M P S B Kulatunga RSP ndc psc. Miss Samanthi is the sister of S/R102116 Lance Corporal Vijayai of the 2nd Battalion, Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps, currently serving under Security Forces Headquarters (Wanni).
The financial contribution for the laptop was made by Mr. Kasun, a Sri Lankan residing in Australia, with coordination support from Mr. Manoj Manadeniya, also based in Australia. The donation was made in recognition of Miss Samanthi’s academic dedication and to assist her in furthering her higher education.
The official handover ceremony took place at the Security Forces Headquarters (Wanni) premises on 26 March 2026. The event was attended by the Commander, the Brigadier Administration and Quartering, the Colonel General Staff, senior officers, and Mr. Manoj Manadeniya.
The initiative reflects the continued commitment of the Security Forces to support the welfare and educational advancement of service personnel families, fostering opportunities for future generations.
