As a concept of enhancing the educational welfare of students in Wanni region, a programme of distributing essential school items was organised under the patronage of Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General Rohitha Dharmasiri ndu psc
Troops of 543 Brigade organised this Programme in distributing these essential school items for needy students at MN/Fathima Central College in Mannar with the supervison of Commander 543 Brigade Colonel Mangala Mayadunne RSP psc General Officer Commanding 54 Division Brigadier Subhashana Welikala WWV RWP RSP USP.
The donation was sponsored by an Old Boy of Ananda College Colombo Mr Prasadh Lokupitiya and one of his friends Mr Ranganath Kirindage. Over 110 needy students selected from MN/Fathima Central College and 10 other colleges in the area were benefited through this programme.
Commander 543 Brigade Mangala Mayadunne RSP psc graced the event as the chief guest while Mr Prasadh Lokupitiya, together with Mr Ranganath Kirindage participated as guest of honours.
Commander 541 Brigade Colonel Pradeep Kulathunga RSP psc, Commander 542 Brigade Colonel Ravi Herath USP psc, Senior Officers of Headquarters 54 Division, Director - Education Zone Mannar, Teachers, Principal of MN/Fathima Central College along with students and their parents too were present at the occasion.
