DONATION OF CEMENT BAGS AND CONSTRUCTION OF THE PARAPET WALL OF THE JOSEPH VAS CHURCH OF NUNS IN 54 INF DIV AOR

GOC 54 Infantry Division donated 37 cement bags to the Joseph Vas church of nuns in Murunkan, Kalimotai, Mannar in 542 Bde area on 16 Oct 21 for the construction of a protection parapet wall for the church on their request.

The financial contribution for this event was provided by the Sweshini Organization, United Kingdom with the close coordination of Mr Ravi Rajapaksha. The troops of 8 VIR under command to 542 Infantry Bde are constructing the wall with the direction of GOC 54 Infantry Division.as a charity project.

General Officer Commanding 54 Inf Div Maj Gen UD Wijesekara RWP RSP USP rcds psc, Bde Comd 542 Inf Bde, Col Coord 54 Inf Div and CO 8 VIR participated for the event.
