DISTRIBUTION OF SCHOOL ITEMS AMONG LOW INCOME FAMILIES CHILDREN
School items are distributed among the poor school children those who belong to various nationalities, annually. by an International Canadian Institute ‘Sleeping child Around the World’, by co-ordinating with Rotary Club, Kelaniya.
In this year, the programme has been planned by co-ordinating with Sri Lanka Army aiming 4000 School children. As a one stage of the programme. school items were distributed among selected 800 students, 6-12 years old, at the Medawachchiya Maiththreepala Senanayake Central College from 0830 to 1530 on 4th July 2014. Members of the Rotary Club and members of SCAW Institute, The Brigade Commander of the 211 Brigade, Brigadier DT Gamage Psc, Civil Co-ordinating officer of 211 Brigade, Maj GLS Ariyawansa SLNG, large numbers of villagers, School teachers and students participated for the event.
