According to the concept of the Commander Security Force ( Wanni ), with the guidance of General Officer Commanding 21 Infantry Division, Major General H L V M Liyanage RWP RSP, in view of extending a helping hand to uplift educational standards of students in the remote area, a donation of school accessories got underway on 13 January 2021 at Kadurupitiya Asokamala Vidyalaya in Anuradhapura District, under the patronage of the Commanding Officer 5 (V ) Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry, Major SD Rathnasiri.
This was materialized, on the contribution made by a group of Sri Lankan philanthropists residing in Australia who had the same intention of uplifting educational standards of students in remote area. During the programme, 94 students received school accessories. This programme was organized by 5 (V) Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry, under the supervision of Commander 213 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier K A N Rasika Kumara psc. Civil Affairs Officer 213 Infantry Brigade Major E D S K Deniyaya and group of Officers and Other Rankers of 5 (V) Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry took part in the Occasion.
