The Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General D M H D Bandara RWP RSP USP as the Overall Coordinator of Prevention of Covid - 19 in the District of Vavuniya presided the coordinating conference on 13 June 2021 at the District Secretariat Office - Vavuniya with the participation of District Secretary - Vavuniya Mr S M Saman Bandulasena, Commander 56 Infantry Division Major General A A D N S P Dunuwila RWP RSP USP, Commander 563 Infantry Brigade Brigadier K A P Perera RSP Senior Superintendent of Police Vavuniya Division SSP Thissa Lal de Silva and an all OICs of Vavuniya district Police, Regional Director of Health Services, other Government Officials and Representatives of the Wholesalers Association.
The purpose of the meeting is to co-ordinate the proper mechanism to control fast spreading of Covid-19 pandemic with the health sector, police and Government official in the district. Regional Director of Health service Dr Mahendran briefed the situation emphasizing the importance of adhering to health instructions in order to prevent the rapid spreading of the virus among the community. SF commander further given instruction to head of the department to adhere to the health guideline given by the health authorities and restrict all unnecessary moments and also to identify the first contacts, Instruct to conduct disinfection programmes and request health authorities to increase antigen, PCR test and vaccination informed all field Commanders and Police to Educate Public through PA system and ensure basic precautionary measures are adopt in all Govt/Ptv sectors. Further he requested Government authorities to made necessary arrangement to distribute essential food for villages for smooth functioning.
