COORDINATING CONFERENCE ON PREVENTION OF COVID - 19 IN VAVUNIYA DISTRICT

The Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General D M H D Bandara RWP RSP USP as the Overall Coordinator of Prevention of Covid - 19 in the District of Vavuniya presided the coordinating conference on 21 May 2021 at the District Secretariat Office - Vavuniya with the participation of District Secretary - Vavuniya Mr S M Saman Bandulasena, Deputy Inspector General – Vavuniya, Regional Director of Health Services and other Government Officials.

The purpose of the meeting is to control the fast-spreading of Covid - 19 pandemics in the district. The representative of the Regional Director of Health service Dr Lavan briefed the situation emphasizing the importance of adhering to health instructions in order to prevent the rapid spreading of the virus among the community. Thereafter all members discuss the prevailing situation and their responsibilities having attention to detail on uninterrupted distribution of essential food items by cooperative sector and facilitate farmers to attend their farming enabling to secure their cultivation. Further discussion held on to establish the mechanism to prevent and control the spreading by identifying the first contacts of infected personnel.
