Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General D M H D Bandara RWP RSP USP as the Overall Coordinator of Prevention of Covid - 19 in the District of Vavuniya, District Secretary (Acting) - Vavuniya Mr. T Thiresh Kumara presided the coordinating conference on 25 August 2021 at the District Secretariat Office - Vavuniya with the participation of GOC 56 Infantry Division, DIG Vavuniya Division, Regional Director of Health Services, Divisional Secretaries, other government officials and representatives of trades association Vavuniya were participated.
The purpose of the meeting is to co-ordinate the mechanism to control fast spreading of Covid-19 pandemic, review the curfew situation and actions to be taken during the curfew period with the health sector, police, government officials and representatives of trades association in the district. The Regional Director of Health Services Dr. Mahendran and DMO Vavuniya briefed the situation emphasizing the importance of adhering to health instructions in order to prevent the rapid spreading of the virus among the community. Thereafter the Commander Security Force (Wanni) further instructed head of the departments to adhere to the health guideline given by the health authorities and restrict all unnecessary moments during curfew.
