CONTINUING OF MEDICAL CAMP FOR VISION IMPAIRED PEOPLE AT NEDUNKERNY

56 Infantry Division troops conducted a medical camp with the aim of assisting vision impaired people in Nedunkerny area on 13 July 2024 at the 'B' Company camp premises of 16 SLSR. This programme is scheduled under two stages. As the first stage, targeted 291 of vision impaired people for eye checkup. It extends to second stage with forwarding 33 patients for cataract surgeries, donating of spectacles for 10 and reading glasses for 211 patients who have screened.

Programme was launched under the guidance and instructions of General Officer Commanding 56 Infantry Division, Major General S Kasturimudali RSP ndc psc with the coordination of Commander 561 Infantry Brigade Colonel M G A Malandeniya RSP and Commanding Officer of 16 SLSR Major W A M K Wanniarachchi RWP RSP USP with the generous contribution of Secretary of Assist Resettlement and Renaissance Organization, Dr. Sarvesvaran.

The Deputy General Officer Commanding of 56 Infantry Division Brig W S V Fernando USP ndc IG, Commander 561 Infantry Brigade, Staff of Rehabilitation and Resettlement Organization, Colonel Coordinating of 56 Infantry Division, Commanding Officer 16 SLSR, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated for the event.
