Under the concept and guidance of Major General T N K Perera, General Officer Commanding of the 21 Infantry Division, a three-day Regimental Accounts Training Workshop was successfully conducted with the objective of enhancing the knowledge and competencies of officers and clerical staff engaged in accounting duties within the Divisional Headquarters and its subordinate infantry brigades and units.
The workshop was held on 06, 07, and 08 April 2026 at the Lecture Hall of the Brigade Headquarters. It aimed to ensure the accurate and efficient execution of regimental accounting procedures across all formations.
A total of 10 officers and 60 other ranks from the Brigade and its subordinate infantry brigades and units participated in the programme. The sessions were conducted by Staff Sergeant Jayasundara J.M., an Accounts Instructor at the Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps Training School, Kuttigala.
During the workshop, special emphasis was placed on the fundamentals of regimental accounting, practical approaches to maintaining accounts, preparation of financial documents for auditing, and hands-on training to strengthen practical knowledge.
The training programme significantly contributed to improving the professional standards and accounting proficiency of the participating officers and other ranks, thereby enhancing the overall efficiency and accountability of regimental financial management.
