COMPLETION OF ANGAMPORA TRAINING PROGRAMME AT 59 INFANTRY DIVISION

Under the guidance of Major General J P C Peiris RWP RSP ndc Commander, Security Forces (Wanni) and the supervision of Major General D R N Hettiarachchi RWP RSP USP General Officer Commanding, 59 Infantry Division, a two-weeks Angampora Training Programme was conducted at the 6th Gamunu Watch Battalion - A Company camp from 15 February to 28 February 2025 with the participation of 90 soldiers. The Deputy General Officer Commanding of the 59 Infantry Division, Brigadier K H N P Hennadige RWP RSP psc attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest. In his address, he emphasized the importance of Angampora training and announced plans for the 3rd phase soon. During the closing ceremony, short video clip was shown, highlighting the capabilities of the soldiers who participated in the programme. The event was attended by senior officers, including Colonel M S I Aluwihare RWP RSP Commander, 591 Infantry Brigade and Colonel W M I U B Weerasekara USP psc Commander, 593 Infantry Brigade as well as officers, training instructors and soldiers.
