62 Division has organized a community welfare service to assist underprivileged community in Kiriibbanwewa and Veherathenna resettled villages on 27 September 2014 and 28 September 2014. This work of great virtue was done by Ananda College Old Boys Association with response to an expressed wish by General Officer Commanding 62 Division Brigadier K G D Perera RWP RSP USP IG.
Dry Ration packs, value of Rs 2000.00 each were distributed among 150 families in Kiri Ibbanwewa on 27 September 2014 and dry ration packs, each worth of Rs 1000.00 were distributed among 13 pregnant women in Veherathenna on 28 September 2014.
