COMMUNITY WELFARE PROJECT

A vast community welfare project has conducted on 19th December 2021 at Echchankulam School in 56 Division area with the coordination of 56 Infantry Division, supervision of 562 Infantry Brigade and the organizing of 15 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment by the civil community “82 Api” which has inaugurated by 1982 born individuals from Sri Lanka and all around the world.

The programme has involved the conduct of a maternity clinic and distribution of 25 nutrition packs and other necessary paediatric items for pregnant women, conduct of an eye and ear clinic for 100 persons and distribution of 50 spectacles for required people with the cooperation of Vision Care, and the donation of prosthetic legs for 20 needy people with the cooperation of “Centre for Handicapped”.

The General Officer Commanding 56 Infantry Division, Major General U U K L S Perera RWP RSP USP psc was graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and Mr Thejana Abeydheera (Founder of the organization), Mrs Sujani Senarath and several other representatives from “82 Api” organization, the Commander 562 Infantry Brigade - Brigadier AMS Premawansha RWP RSP USP, Colonel General Staff of 56 Infantry Division - Colonel K P P Karunanayaka, Colonel Coordinating Officer of 56 Division - Colonel D D G A Jayawardhana USP psc, Civil Affairs Officer - Lieutenant Colonel W K AS Priyanthalal RWP RSP, Commanding Officer 15 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment - Major J M P Rajapaksha and several Army personnel and limited invitees were presented at the occasion adhering to the Covid - 19 health protocols
