COMMANDER SECURITY FORCES (WANNI) VISITS ALANKULAM BATTALION TRAINING SCHOOL

The 11th Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery (RFT) troops started the battalion training at Battalion Training School in Alankulam on 17 January 2024. During the battalion training Major General W P A D W Nanayakkara RSP VSV USP ndu, Commander, Security Forces (Wanni) visited the school compound on Wednesday (07).

The Commander Security Forces (Wanni) was warmly welcomed to the school premises by the Commandant, Battalion Training School Alankulam, along with the Commanding Officer, 11th Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery (RFT) and the Senior Instructor of the School. Subsequently, the Senior Instructor of the training school introduced the instructors of the school to the Commander at the location.

Thereafter, the Commander, Security Forces (Wanni) inspected the surroundings of the camp, the welfare of the instructors and the students, and several key places at the school and discussed possibilities for improvement of infrastructure facilities in the future.

After that, the Commander Security Forces (Wanni) and other participants attended a comprehensive briefing on the role and tasks of the Battalion Training School, which was conducted by the Commandant. Subsequently, addressing the instructors, the Wanni Commander emphasized several key factors, including the method of instruction, instructor qualities, and the necessity of improving the constant training which paves the path to develop the soldiers’ co - competencies to develop the skills of performing multiple tasks in order to face future security challenges of the nation.

General Officer Commanding 54 Infantry Division, General Officer Commanding 56 Infantry Division and Brigadier General Staff, General Staff Officer 2 (Training) and Staff Officer 2 (Supply and Transport) of the Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) also accompanied the Wanni Commander during the visit.
