The Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General Rohitha Dharmasiri ndu psc made his third official visit to 61 Division and its under command formations during 02 and 03 December 2019.
Giving a warm welcome by the General Officer Commanding 61 Division Major General RKBS Katekumbura RSP received the Commander Security Force and accompanied him to accord a Guard Turnout.
In order to mark the first visit to Headquarters 61 Division, Major General Rohitha Dharmasiri planted a Sandalwood sapling at the camp premises of Headquarters 61 Division. Later, he paid his thorough attention on the comprehensive briefing presented by the General Officer Commanding of 61 Division in relevance of the Operational and Administrational tasks vested to 61 Division.
Then Commander Security Force (Wanni) visited Headquarters 611 Brigade and there he was warmly received by the Commander 611 Brigade Brigadier WBWMRSP Aluwihare RWP RSP. In order to mark the visit, a mango sapling was planted in the camp premises by Commander Security Force (Wanni).
Next destination was to 17 (V) Battalion Sri Lanka Singhe Regiment and there the Commander Security Force (Wanni) planted a Sandalwood sapling to mark his visit and it was followed by a brief introduction presented by Commanding Officer of 17 (V) Battalion Sri Lanka Singhe Regiment.
Later, the Commander Security Force (Wanni) made a visit to Headquarters 612 Brigade. There, he was welcomed by the Commander 612 Brigade Colonel SWB Welagedara RSP USP. After that he paid his attention on a short briefing.
On the way back, Commander Security Force (Wanni) visited to 20 Battalion Sri Lanka Singhe Regiment as the final visit of day’s events and planted a mango sapling to mark the visit.
The following day visit was commenced from 23 Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry and its Commanding Officer warmly welcomed the Commander Security Force (Wanni). Later, he was accompanied to plant a Sandalwood sapling to mark the visit and attended in a short briefing made by the Commanding Officer.
Visit to Headquarters 613 Brigade was the next event of the day’s series and there Commander Security Force (Wanni) was received by the Commander 613 Brigade Colonel RKNC Jayawardena RSP. Afterwards, the Commander Security Force (Wanni) listened to short briefing on duties and responsibilities vested 613 Brigade.
Afterwards, the Commander Security Force (Wanni) visited 24 Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry and 20 Battalions Gajaba Regiment respectively. There also Commander Security Force (Wanni) attended in formalities such as briefings by Commanding Officers, visits around the camp premises, etc.
General Officer Commanding 61 Division, Commanders of 611, 612 and 613 Brigades, Senior Officers of Headquarters Security Force (Wanni), 61 Division, Commanding Officers of under command Battalions to 61 Divisions attended in the visits.
