COMMANDER SECURITY FORCE (WANNI) COMMENCED HIS OFFICIAL VISIT TO 56 INFANTRY DIVISION

The Commander Security Force (Wanni), Major General W P A D W Nanayakkara RSP VSV USP ndu, paid his first official visit to 56 Infantry Division, under command Brigades and Battalions, on 09 August 2023.

The General Officer Commanding 56 Infantry Division, Major General H G P M Kariyawasam RSP ndu, psc IG, Brigade Commanders of 561, 562 and 563 Infantry Brigades, Staff Officers of 56 Infantry Division, and the Commanding Officers extended a warm welcome to the Commander, Security Force (Wanni) on arrival by presenting ceremonial honours at the entrance.

Thereafter, Commander Security Force (Wanni), addressed the under command troops of the 56 Infantry Division and emphasized training, maintaining of discipline and behavior with responsibility in the area should be to ensure the dignity of the victorious Army. Further, he elaborated on how to maintain a balance between army life and personal life and responsibility towards the National Security. Subsequently, a sapling was planted on the premises of the Headquarters Office Complex to commemorate the visit and appeared for a group photograph with the Commander, Security Force (Wanni) with Field Commanders and Staff Officers of 56 Infantry Division. Meanwhile, a comprehensive briefing was done in relevance to the operational and administrative tasks carried out by the 56 Infantry Division by the General Officer Commanding, 56 Infantry Division, at the Conference Hall in the presence of Brigade Commanders and Commanding Officers. Finally The Brigadier General Staff, Brigadier Administration and Quartering, and Colonel General Staff of Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) also joined with the official visit in order to receive an update on the operational and administrative functions of the under command formations of the 56 Infantry Division.
