THE COMMANDER SECURITY FORCE HEADQUARTERS (WANNI) RELINQUISHED FROM THE DUTIES

A dignified formal ceremony was taken place to mark the relinquishment of the Commander Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) Major General RuwanKulatungaand saluted the Outgoing Commanderin accordance with military traditions on 27 July 2017.\r\nAs the day’s significance reached its peak, a guard turnout and guard of honor were bestowed for the Outgoing Commander by 24th Battalion Sri Lanka light Infantry. Therein, the Outgoing Commander was received by the Brigadier General Staff of Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) close to the parade ground at the camp premises.\r\nAs the next segment, the Outgoing Commander of Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) addressed the troops at the auditorium and gathered in an all rank tea session. Later on,the OutgoingCommander took part in a simple get together at night in the Officers’ Mess that was organized to mark the farewell for the Outgoing Commander. Therein, an impressive memento was gifted to the Outgoing Commander by the Incoming Commander Major General KumuduPerera.\r\nCoincide with the relinquishment the Commander Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) visited the Chief Reverend Atamasthanadhipathi, and theRuwanweliseya.\r\nOn the way back, the Commander visited Abhimanslato enquire the amenity and healthof the disabled inhabitants.\r\nAs the formal visit to the under command formations, the Outgoing Commander visited 21, 54, 56, 61 and 62 Divisions and addressed the troops.\r\nSubsequently, the Outgoing Commander paid his courtesy visit to the Reverend Bishop in Mannarbefore the departure from the Wanni region where he commanded its Security Forces nearly 8 months.\r\nThe newly appointed Commander Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) Major General KumuduPerera, all General Officers Commanding, Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers of under command battalions, Senior Officers, Officers and number of Other Ranks were present to pay their final respect to the Outgoing Commander.
