COLONEL A M A ABEYWARDANA WWV RWP RSP ASSUMED OFFICE AS THE 8TH COMMANDER OF THE 541 INFANTRY BRIGADE

A formal ceremony was taken place to mark the assuming of the office of newly appointed Commander 541 Infantry Brigade Colonel A M A Abeywardana WWV RWP RSP on 19 July 2021 as the 8th Brigade Commander.

As the first segment of the ceremony, the incoming Brigade Commander honoured with a Guard Turnout presented on arrival at the Headquarters premises by 10th Battalion (Volunteer) Gemunu Watch. Then Colonel Ajith Abeywardana assuming of office and auspiciously took over the duties amid the religious observances.

Subsequently Mango sapling was planted at the premises of headquarters office complex, followed troop address and all rank tea organized at the Other Ranks’ Mess at 541 Infantry Brigade. During the troop address he expressed his vision. The Commanding Officers and under command troops attended the ceremonial event and they extended best wishes to the new Brigade Command
