COLONEL D N C SERASINGHE RSP USP ASSUMED OFFICE AS THE 12 COMMANDER 653 INFANTRY BRIGADE

Colonel Namal Serasinge of Sri Lanka Engineers assumed officer as the 12th Commander 653 Infantry Brigade of the 65 Infantry Division under Security Force headquarters - Wanni on Monday (27) at his office in the Thachchanamaruthamadu, Palampiddi.

The newly-appointed Brigade Commander was warmly welcomed by Staff Officers and honored in a Guard Turnout, presented by the troops of 24th Battalion of Gajabha Regiment on arrival at the premises. To symbolize the acceptance of the new office, Colonel Namal Serasinghe left his signature in an official document amid religious observances. Later he was invited to plant a sapling in the premises as a gesture of memory. Further, the Commander 653 Infantry Brigade made a formal visit to the 24th Battalion of Gajabha Regiment, Madhu on Tuesday (28) after assuming his office. The Formal address to the officers and other ranks of Brigade Headquarters and Battalion Headquarters conducted in both days by the Commander 653 Infantry Brigade.

The Commanding Officer 24th Battalion of Gajabha Regiment, Staff officers, Officers and other Ranks in 653 Infantry Brigade and 24th Battalion of Gajabha Regiment were present at the occasions.
