CLINICAL COUNSELING WORKSHOP CONDUCTED AT 54 INFANTRY DIVISION

A Clinical Counseling workshop was conducted at 54 Infantry Division from 25 April to 27 April 2023 with the supervision and guidance of General Officer commanding 54 Infantry Division Major General W W H R RVM N D K B Niyangoda RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc for selected 17 Officers and 05 Other Ranks of the Division. The aim of workshop is to establish counselling cell at each Battalion, Brigade and this Headquarters in order to identify and find proper solution for the soldiers’ mental and physical issues related to working places and their houses. Workshop conducted by Consultant Psychiatrist Brigadier RMM Monaragala USP , Captain S M P K Samarakoon, Captain HGN Deshapriya and WO1 A K W K Abeywardene sharing their wide spectrum of knowledge and experiences. Subjects covered during the workshop are Counselling Skills, Mental Health Issues and Psychosocial Management. During the workshop case studies, brain storming session and thought provoking discussion were held for the better understanding of the subject.
