CLEANING PROGRAMME

The troops of 5th (V) Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry with the participation of the villagers of Nabadagasdigiliya, launched a cleaning programme to remove “Japan Jabara” plants which blocked the sluice gates of Nabadagasdigiliya Tank in order to save the tank bunt on 05 December 2020 according to the request made by Divisional Secretary Mahawilachchiya.

This programme was organized according to the instruction and guidance of Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General W L P W Perera RWP RSP ndu and General Officer Commanding 21 Infantry Division Major General H L V M Liyanage RWP RSP. The cleaning work was carried out by the Commanding Officer 5th Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment with the supervision of the Commander 213 Brigade, Brigadier K A N Rasika Kumara psc.
