To commemorate World Children’s Day, a special programme was held at Madhu Road Sinhala Maha Vidyalaya on 01 October 2025. The event was conducted under the direction of the General Officer Commanding, 54 Infantry Division, Major General A M C Abeykoon RWP RSP USP ndc, and was organized by the 4th Battalion, Gajaba Regiment.
The celebration brought together six teachers, eleven children, and their parents, who participated with great enthusiasm to mark this memorable occasion.
Adding dignity and significance to the programme, the Chief Incumbent of the Sri Bodhiraja Viharaya, Madhu Road, and the Chief Father of the Madhu Road Church graced the event with their honorable presence, symbolizing the spirit of unity, peace, and harmony within the community.
The day’s activities unfolded in a vibrant and joyful atmosphere, providing the children with the opportunity to showcase their talents while enjoying a celebration filled with happiness. The event concluded with cherished memories and lasting smiles on the faces of the young participants and their families.
This programme was successfully organized under the guidance of the Commander, 542 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier A. R. W. C. Asurasingha RWP RSP USP, and through the dedicated efforts of the Commanding Officer, 4th Battalion Gajaba Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel M. S. S. Fernando USP psc, together with his troops.
