CHIEF OF STAFF OF THE SRI LANKA ARMY SPEAKS TO OFFICERS AND OTHER RANKS AT SFHQ-WANNI

Major General W H K S Peiris RWP RSP VSV USP ndu, Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army met All Ranks serving under the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni at Headquarters Security Forces (Wanni) auditorium on Saturday, 02 March 2024 and shared thoughts with them.

On arrival at the entrance, Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army was greeted in a Guard Turnout, presented by Wanni troops before he was warmly welcomed by the Major General WPADW Nanayakkakara RSP VSV USP ndu, Commander, Security Forces (Wanni).

During his speech, paid tribute to the memory of all fallen War Heroes and appreciated the current role and tasks being performed by the troops of the Sri Lanka Army and Security Forces Wanni.

He emphasized about the Army welfare facilities and assured that he would take necessary action to further improve those facilities to the best of the ability of the government.

Towards the end of his address, he expressed his sincere gratitude to the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu for giving the opportunity and Further he thanks to the Commander, Security Forces (Wanni) Major General W P A D W Nanayakkakara RSP VSV USP ndu for arranging the opportunity for him to speak to the Officers and Other Ranks of the Wanni.

After his address the Commander, Security Forces (Wanni) presented special mementos to the visiting Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army.

The Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army joined the All Ranks tea arrangement to share the thoughts with officers and Other Ranks who are serving under SFHQ (Wanni) theater. Prior to his departure, he penned down some complimentary remarks in the visitors' book and sat for a group photographs.

General Officer Commanders of 21, 54, 56, 59 and 64 Infantry Divisions, Commander Logistics Command (Wanni), All Brigade Commanders, Senior Officers and Officers were also present during the occasion.
