As per a request made by the District Medical Office, Vauvniya to 561 Infantry Bridge to donate blood to due to Scarecity of blood in the Distract Hospital the troops of 17 (V) VIR under command to 561 Brigade voluntarily came forward in donating blood to the hospital.
Around seventy troops of 17 (V) VIR, five civilians and seven police officers donated blood during this event. As per the guidance and supervision of GOC 56 Infantry Division Major General KWR De Abrew RWP RSP USP psc Hdmc, Commander 561 Infantry Bridge , CO 17 (V) VIR.
