As per the instructions of the General Officer Commanding 62 Division, Major General Dhammika Jayasinghe, a blood donation campaign was organized at the 62 Division on 07 April 2020.
This campaign was initiated in order to fulfill the timely urgent requirement of different types of blood categories, platelets and fresh plasma with the ongoing Corona pandemic.
Around 120 troops representing all under command formations of 62 Division voluntarily made their contribution to donate blood in order to fulfill the low stock of blood at Hospitals.
A medical team from General Hospital Anuradhapura and Base Hospital Padaviya together with the medical staff of Main Dressing Station, 62 Division conducted this pogramme successfully.
