Blood donation programme was held at local hospital Cheddikulam on 12 December 2020 with the assistance of blood bank of General Hospital VAVUNIYA since the community is reluctant to donate their blood due to COVID 19 epidemic situation in the country. Therefore this much needed event was organized by the 2nd Battalion of Mechanized Infantry Regiment under the direction of Commander Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) Major General WLPW Perera RWP RSP ndu.
Arrangements at the venue and coordinating of blood donors were handled under the supervisions of the Commander 213 Infantry Brigade Brigadier K A N Rashika Kumara USP and the direction of General Officer Commanding 21 Infantry Division Major General HLVM Liyanage RWP RSP ndu.
More than 50 officers and Other Ranks including civilians living in the nearby villages participated to this blood donation campaign.
