Basic Swimming Course No 21, which conducted from 02 August 2024 to 09 September 2024 was successfully concluded at the Security Forces Headquarters (Wanni) swimming pool at Anuradhapura on 09 September 2024. During the ceremony, 36 Other Ranks representing battalions under the SFHQ(W) received certificates. Maj Gen WMSCK Wanasinghe RSP USP the General Officer Commanding of the 21 Infantry Division graced the occasion as the chief guest. S/166924 Tpr Ariyawansha DGMS 11 SLA was chosen as the best student of the course. For the first time, students received Water Safety and CPR (Cardio - Pulmonary Resuscitation) certificates from the Sri Lanka Lifesaving.
