Twenty-two officers were awarded certificates on 18 December 2017 after following the Basic English Course, organized by the Security Force Headquarters (Wanni).\r\nThe course was conducted from 15 November 2017 to 15 December 2017 with the supervision and guidance of the Commander Security Force (Wanni), Major General Kumudu Perera RWP RSP ndu.\r\nThe aim of conducting the course is to improve the reading, writing, listening and speaking skills of the officers under the different formations of Security Force (Wanni).\r\nAll student officers were engaged in class room assignments, debates, presentations, discussions, public speeches and various kinds of language related activities enthusiastically.\r\nThe final examination was taken place at the end of the academic sessions and students were evaluated under Work grade, Presentations and Written test.\r\nAfter considering the marks in three different aspects (Work Grade, Presentation and Written Test), Captain N W T D Thilakarathne from Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment became the first in order of merit of the course. The second place was obtained by Captain D M D K Dissanayake from Sri Lanka Singha Regiment while third place was obtained by Lieutenant D M C M Rathnayake from Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment and E M A Dharmarathna from Sri Lanka Signal Corp.\r\nThe course was concluded by certificate awarding ceremony with participation of the Brigadier Admin and Quartering in Security Force Headquarters (Wanni), Colonel Ranjan Premalal USP as the chief guest.
