The 7th stage of the Athahitha Programme was conducted on 19th and 20th December 2022 covering the Padavi Sripura & Welioya Divisional secretaries to contribute to the education of the children in rural areas.
At the outset 400 school exercise book packs, each worth of Rs. 2760.00 were distributed among the students at Palugaswanguwa National School, Track 11/12 Samanpura Maha Vidyalaya, Track 10 Tissapura Maha Vidyalaya, Ahatugaswewa Maha Vidyalaya and Kiriibbanwewa Vidyalaya.
The programe was scheduled as per the instructions and the direction of General Officer Commanding 62 Infantry Division, Major General Janaka Ranasinghe and the supervision of Command 622 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier Enoj Herath. General Officer Commanding, 62 Infantry Division grace the occasion as the Chief Guest. The event was organized with the supervision of Commanding Officer of the 9th Battalion Gajaba Regiment.
This programme sponsored by the members of Royal College Old Boys Association and members of Alumni Association of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura as per the concept and initiative take by Mr Prasad Lokubalasooriya and his team, Mr Sanka Karunarathna, Mr Pethiba Serasinghe, Mr Rajith Munasinghe, Mrs Theja Kapurage, Mr Mahesh Perera and Mr Nadeera Jayasinghe, Yasith Lokuge, Sameera Kalupe and the Ashoka Munasinghe.
