ASSUMING DUTIES AS NEW GENERAL OFFICER COMMANDING OF 65 INFANTRY DIVISION

Major General E A D P Edirisingha psc on Friday (01) July 2022 assumed duties as the 14th General Officer Commanding of the 65 Infantry Division under the Security Force Headquarters – (Wanni), amidst religious blessings and military formalities at the 65 Infantry Division HQ in Thunukkai.

The newly appointed General Officer Commanding of the 65 Infantry Division on arrival at the premises was warmly welcomed by the Staff Officers of the Division Headquarters after he was honoured in a Guard Turnout presented by troops of 10 Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry.

Later on, Maj Gen E A D P Edirisingha psc in his office placed his signature for an official document to mark his assumption of office, amidst chanting of ‘Seth Pirith’ in the presence of Senior Officers. He afterwards planted a sapling in the compound as a symbol of memory. Brigade Commanders, Staff Officers of the Headquarters - 65 Infantry Division, Commanding Officers and Other Ranks were presented at the occasion
