ANTI SMOKING WORKSHOP TO MARK NATIONAL NO TOBACCO WEEK
Awareness program on anti smoking was held at the auditorium in SF HQ Wanni on 05 June 2015 from 0900hrs to 1200 hrs for about 20 officers and 400 soldiers working in the Security Force Headquarters Wanni and under command battalions. This program was conducted inline with the national no Tobacco Week which is declared from May 31 to June 6 by the Presidential Task Force on Drug Prevention. This week is been declared in coincide with World No Tobacco Day which fell on 1 June. The primary objective of the program was to improve happiness and well-being of soldiers by reducing consumption of alcohol, tobacco and other drug use.\r\n\r\nThis program was conducted with the guidance of the Commander Security Force Wanni Major General MHSB Perera RWP RSP USP ndu psc and supported by the Directorate of Psychological Operations. Workshop was successfully conducted by Mr. Sampath de Seram and Mr.Indika Rajapakshe from Alcohol and Drug Information Center.
