ANOTHER COLOSSAL SOCIAL WELFARE FOR THE PEOPLE IN WANNI REGION BY MEMBERS OF SIRIDAMMARAAMA LAYMEN SOCIETY
\r\nVarity of social services for the well being of the people live in Wanni Region are being conducted very commonly under the leadership of the Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General MHSB Perera RWP RSP USP ndu psc. Accordingly another series of social welfare services were arranged and carried out on 7th August 2016 at Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) and 26 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment in Weherathenna resettled village under the guidance of the Commander Security Force -Wanni with the coordination of the Commanding Officer of 4 Sri Lanka Signal Corps Lieutenant Colonel Kasun Adhikari being united with the kind donation of Nugegoda Siridammaraamadikari Rev. Bogambara Rathana Jothi Nayaka Thero.\r\n\r\nThe events commenced with the donation of Rs. 50000 worth of porcelain plates sets, water motors, water tanks and packs of necessary items for 10 Buddhist Temples in the area at the auditorium of Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) in the morning. Thirty three Damma School students of Madukanda Pirivena were received financial assistants to buy their Damma School’s uniforms and 350 students received exercise books. \r\n\r\nAfterwards Alms (lunch) was offered for 30 Monks at the Station Officers’ Mess in SFHQ (Wanni) and all the Dhamma School students, their parents and teachers (around 100 civilians) were provided with lunch. \r\n\r\nLater on Nugegoda Siridammaraamadikari Rev. Bogambara Rathana Jothi Nayaka Thero with 14 Monks and 63 civilians went to Weherathenna Village and 100 packs of farming instruments were distributed among 100 families of Weherathenna resettled village. A set of cookery items and funds for constructions were donated for the Weherathenna Mortis Aids Club. The General Officer Commanding of 62 Division Brigadier Athula Kodippily and Principal of Ratmalana Kandawala Maha Vidyalaya Rev. Thangalle Sudhamma Thero had also participated this occasion. \r\n\r\nThe events were successfully concluded with the kind patronage of the Nugegoda Siridammaraamadikari Rev. Bogambara Rathana Jothi Nayaka Thero and the members of Siridammaraama laymen society and the officers and other ranks of Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) under the great guidance of the Commander Security force (Wanni).\r\n
