All night pirith chanting and most sacred branch Jayasirimaha bodhi tree brought in to the camp mark the 16 anniversary of 56 division
The 56 Division had organized a Pirith Chanting programme on 04 October 2013 with the assistance of under command Brigades and Battalions. Patronage of Deputy Chief Sanga Nayaka Ven Attabagaskada Kalyanatissayabidana Nayaka Thero (Northern Province) graced the event with other 24 monks. Followed an alms – giving programme on 05 October 2013 and the most Sacred Branch Jaya Sirimaha Bodhi Tree brought in to the camp with colorful procession.
The aim of this event is to bless all ranks are being saved in Division Headquarters and under command formations. Specially Commemorated the Soldiers who Scarified their lives for the sovereignty of the Nation. All the participants including civilians were provided with their Dinner and Breakfast by Division Headquarters.
Hon. MP Uditha Loku bandara and the Commander 21 Division Brigadier H R K P Peris USP, the Commander 62 Division Brigadier K G D Perera RWP RSP IG , Brigadier GS Security Forces Headquarter (Wanni) Brigadier H P Seneviratne USP were participated for the event. Large number of Villagers, Military personnels and distinguish guests were among the present. This event was directed by General Officer Commanding 56 Division Brigadier D A R Ranawaka RSP IG.
