AGRARIAN INSTRUMENTS AND WATER TANKS FOR RESETTLED VILLAGERS
The Farmers Organization of Veherathenna village was benefited with two Browns Hand Tractors on 25th September 2014 at 26 SLSR premises. These tractors were donated by the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society. Simultaneously 300 packs of agrarian instruments had been distributed among the 300 families of Veherathenna village with the sponsor by ‘Hadabima Authority’. Each pack was consisted with a mamotee, a shovel, a fork and a rake which is nearly cost of Rs. 2650.00.
In the same occasion, 1000 L of 20 water tanks were handed over to the villagers of Koonwewa, Veherathenna, Veherawewa, Kambiliwewa and Kohombagaswewa with the kind patronage of ‘Loadstar (Pvt) Ltd- Kotugoda’. This donation ceremony was conducted by the 62 Division with the great participation of the Commander Security Force (Wanni), Colonel of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment and Competent Authority for Displaced Personnel in the Northern Province Major General M H S B Perera RWP RSP USP ndu psc as the chief guest. The General Officer Commander of 62 Division Brigadier KGD Perera RWP RSP USP IG, the Brigade Commander of 623 Brigade, Brigadier J Thanthiriwaththa RWP, Commanding Officer of 26th Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel AMSDB Adhikari SLSR and Mr Ananda Chandrasiri, Welfare Officer of Loadstar (Pvt) Ltd - Kotugoda had participated for this welfare service which highlighted the continuous service of the Sri Lanka Army on behalf of the benevolence of civilian in Northern Province.
