ACTIVITIES IN CONJUNCTION WITH VESAK FESTIVAL

In conjunction with the Annual Vesak Festival, The General Officer Commanding of 65 Infantry Division Maj Gen Tikiri Dissanayake alone with other Officers and Other Ranks of the Infantry Division conducted a “Kiri Ahara Pooja” programme on 27 May 2021 at Ruwanweliseya & Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi in Anuradhapura. Further religious books were distributed by GOC and other officers to those who were near Ruwanweliseya.

Other than that, Divisional troops along with of 19 SLLI and 17 (V) SLLI conducted a dry ration distribution programme in Kalvilan, Wellankulam, Nachchikuda, Mulankavil and Iranamathanagar areas. 60 packets of dry ration worth Rs: 3000 were distributed among low-income families, disabled and pregnant mothers. Further dry ration pack were donated by Mr Morris Soundas Jayatilake and troops under command to 65 Infantry Division.
