66th ANNIVERSARY OF THE SRI LANKA ARMY CELEBRATED AT SF HQ (WANNI)
66th Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army was celebrated at Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) on 9 and 10 October 2015. \r\n\r\nTroops of Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) conducted Series of events such as ‘Shramadana’ campaign at the Ayurveda hospital -Vauniya, commemoration and thanksgiving at Vauniya church, Islamic religious observances at the Mosque in Vauniya, The sacred Pooja of Hindu tradition was held at Mundimuruppu Hindu kovil and Special Bodhi Pooja was held at the SF HQ (Wanni) premises for invocation of blessings on 9th Friday.\r\n \r\nCommencing the days programme, flag was hoisted by Brigadier GWDK Jayathilaka USP at SFHQ (W) and the Army day message of the Commander of the Army was read out by Maj RALS Priyadarshana. Brigadier GWDK Jayathilaka USP planted a tree at the SFHQ (W) premises in commemorating the 66th Army Day. All the officers and Other Ranks had a tea together. Brigadier GWDK Jayathilaka USP visited the Army Field Hospital Wanni and gave away the gift parcels to inmates.\r\n \r\nThese events were organised under the the directions of the Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General MHSB Perera RWP RSP USP ndu psc\r\n
