65 INFANTRY DIVISION ESTABLISHES INDIGENOUS MEDICINAL PLANTS GARDEN

With the aim of promoting the indigenous medicinal plants, 65 Infantry Division ceremonially established a “Osu Uyana” on 16 September 2022 at the 65 Infantry Division premises, Thunukkai with the participation of a large number of officers and the soldiers. General Officer Commanding 65 Infantry Division Major General Prasad Edirisinghe, graced the event as the Chief Guest. More than 200 indigenous medicinal plants for more than 70 varieties were planted during the event.

The Division further intends establish such gardens in formation and unit headquarters under command with the intention of preserve the valuable herbal plants for the future generations. The event was coordinated by the GSO 1 (Coord) Lt Col Rasika Kumara psc SLAC.
