Continuing the concept initialised by the Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General Kumudu Perera RWP RSP VSV USP ndu of being a helping hand for enhancing the education of students in Wanni region, troops of 622 Brigade in collaboration with Ceylon Biscuits Limited installed an Information Technology Unit at Jayanthiwewa Maha Vidyalaya a distant school in Padavi Sri Pura and vested with the presence of distinguished gathering on 14 January 2019.
Facilities related Information Technology was a long felt requirement for students of this far off school and seeing the difficulties which those needy students underwent, the Commander 622 Brigade under the instructions of General Officer Commanding 62 Division Brigadier Dhammaka Jayasinghe together with Ceylon Biscuits Limited step forward to be a helping hand to introduce modern technology with adequate facilities by installing such type of Information Technological Laboratory.
‘Munchee Gamata Sarana’ project pioneered by Ceylon Biscuits Limited financially sponsored the programme provisioning Rs. 350000.00 with the coordination of the Marketing Manager of Ceylon Biscuits Limited Mr Vijith Nishanth
.Construction of the IT Unit was launched with the directions of Commander 622 Brigade Colonel Saliya Amunugama under the careful supervision of General Officer Commanding 62 Division Brigadier Dhammika Jayasinghe.
The opening ceremony of the IT Lab was grandly organised by troops of 9 Battalion Gajaba Regiment and it was graced by the General Officer Commanding 62 Division Brigadier Dhammika Jayasinghe along with Officials of Ceylon Biscuits Limited as chief guests.
Senior Officers of 62 Division and its under command formations, Commanding Officer of 9 Battalion Gajaba Regiment, the Principal along with teachers of Jayanthiwewa Maha Vidyalaya and large number of students too were present at the occasion.
