562 INFANTRY BRIGADE SUCCESSFULLY CONCLUDES ‘’SHRAMA MEHEYUM’’ PROGRAM AT VTA PUWARASANKULAM

In line with the “Clean Sri Lanka” National Initiative, troops of the 562 Infantry Brigade conducted a successful cleaning program at the Vocational Training Centre (VTC), Puwarasankulam, on 04 July 2025. The program was carried out under the guidance of the General Officer Commanding, 56 Infantry Division, Major General K N D Karunapala RSP, and the Commander, 562 Infantry Brigade, Colonel D M P U Dissanayake RSP USP IG. Prior to the commencement of the program, the Officer-in-Charge of the VTC Puwarasankulam, Mr. S M Jihath, along with the Civil Affairs Officer of the 562 Infantry Brigade, Lieutenant Colonel S B Ekanayake, addressed the students of the institute, outlining the objectives and importance of the initiative. The program included not only general cleaning but also colour washing of the premises and the introduction of the 5S concept to enhance organization, cleanliness, and efficiency within the institution. A total of 15 students from the VTC Puwarasankulam and 15 Other Ranks from the 12 (V) Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) actively participated in the event. The Commanding Officer of the 12 (V) VIR and other staff officers were also present, contributing to the success of the program.
