562 Infantry Brigade under Security Force (Wanni) set up a medical camp in coordination with the Regional Directorate of Health Services (RDHS) Vauvniya for the benefits of elderly people in Brigade AOR on 24th June 2023 at Thausiyakulam Government school. This programme was initiated under the guidance of Major General HGPM Kariyawasam RSP ndc psc IG General Officer Commanding 56 Infantry Division and close supervision of Brigadier JMA Jayasekara RSP USP Commander 562 Infantry Brigade.
RDHS- Vavuniya provided wide range of health care facilities such as identification and treatments for non-communicable diseases, Laboratory testing, Scanning and dental facilities for the attendees during the medical camp. Meanwhile people were educated on importance of preventive health care practices, personal hygiene and maintaining of mental well-being. Dr M Mahendran Regional Director Health Service Vavuniya, Dr Nilakshan Director Vavuniya General Hospital and more than 25 number of Doctors and medical staff carried out the medical camp. During the medical camp more than 150 civilians of the area were benefited.
