56 INFANTRY DIVISION TROOPS JOIN TO MARK 40TH ANNIVERSARY OF ARMY SEVA VANITHA UNIT

Troops of 56 Infantry Division launched a tree planting program of 1390 saplings (Na, Mahua, Mahogany, Sri Lankan Agarwood) on 12 July 2024 in 56 Infantry Division Area of Responsibility on marking the 40th anniversary of Sri Lanka Army Seva Vanitha Unit. Main event held at the Alankulam forest reservation abandoned land with the participation of students, teachers of Mallavi National College, Thorankandal Maha Vidyalaya, forest conservation officials, government officials and residents of the area.

This was conducted according to the concept of Mrs. Janaki Liyanage, the President of Army Seva Vanitha Unit and the guidance of General Officer Commanding of 56 Infantry Division, Major General S Kasturimudali RSP ndc psc.

General Officer Commanding of 56 Infantry Division, Commander 561 Infantry Brigade, CAO of 56 Infantry Division, Commanding Officer 10 SLLI, Assistant Secretary of Thunukkai DS Division Mrs. S Nithya, Dr. C Pradeep from Mallavi Base Hospital, Officers of Forest Reservation Department, Officers of Mallavi Police Station, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated for the event.
