Extending the human generosity as continuation of goodwill, Troops of 56 Infantry Division organized a distribution of spectacles for assisting visually impaired people in Puttur and Vavuniya at ‘A’ Company premises of 16 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment and Rajendrakulam Maha Vidyalaya on 10 July 2024.
As the result of series of eye clinics conducted both areas, 310 visually impaired patients were benefited by receiving spectacles. Additionally, refreshments were served to those who were screened.
The programme was launched with the generous contribution of Alakaand Ananda foundations established in Malaysia through Dr. V Sarveswaran, the Secretary of Assist Resettlement and Renaissance Organization.
The event was conducted under the guidance of Major General S Kasturimudali RSP ndc psc, General Officer Commanding of 56 Infantry Division.
General Officer Commanding of 56 Infantry Division, Commander 561 Infantry Brigade, Col Coord, Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, Staff of Assist to Rehabilitation and Resettlement Organization and residents in the area participated in the programme.
