56 INFANTRY DIVISION CONDUCTS TRAINING WORKSHOP FOR SCHOOL CADET TRAINING INSTRUCTORS

In line with the Clean Sri Lanka Project and the visionary guidance of the Commander of the Sri Lanka Army to elevate the Army’s public image and inspire greater youth interest in future officer cadet enlistments, the Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) launched a specialized training initiative. Under the full supervision of the Major General S A U A Solangaarachchi RSP ndc psc General Officer Commanding, 56 Infantry Division, a comprehensive training workshop was organized to strengthen the capabilities of instructors responsible for guiding school cadet platoons across the region.

The workshop was held on 13 November 2025 at the 56 Infantry Division Headquarters and was designed to enhance the professional knowledge, leadership competencies, and instructional proficiency of cadet training instructors. A total of eight senior officers from the National Cadet Corps participated in the programme, supported by 05 officers and 16 non-commissioned officer instructors representing the 5th, 13th, 22nd, 32nd, and 34th National Cadet Corps Battalions. The sessions focused on modern training methodologies, discipline standards, leadership development, and best practices in youth military training.

Adding further value to the programme, a 24-member demonstration team from the 12 (V) VIR Battalion conducted practical sessions, providing participants with hands-on exposure to drill techniques, instructional methods, and performance demonstrations. The successful conduct of the workshop reflects the Army’s continued commitment to national youth development, strengthening civil–military cooperation, and nurturing a disciplined and motivated future generation aligned with the Clean Sri Lanka vision.
