In continuation of identifying visually impaired personnel an Eye Clinic was held at Naddankandal Divisional Hospital under the sponsorship of Assist Rehabilitation and Resettlement Organization coordinating with 10 Sri Lanka Light Infantry of 56 Infantry Division on 16 March 2024. 287 patients attended for the programme and it will be extended with donating of spectacles and taking them for surgeries. This was conducted as the extension of medical camp held at Palinagar on 14 March 2024. Deputy General Officer Commanding of 56 Infantry Division, Brigadier W S V Fernando USP ndc IG participated for the opening of the event.
Programme was launched under the guidance and direction of General Officer Commanding 56 Infantry Division, Major General S Kasturimudali RSP ndc psc with coordination of Commander 561 Infantry Brigade Colonel M A G Malandeniya RSP and Commanding Officer of 10 SLLI Major K A K Hewapathage RWP RSP USP with the generous contribution of Secretary of Assist Rehabilitation and Resettlement Organization, Dr. Sarveswaran. Furthermore refreshments were served for those who screened at medical Camp.
The Deputy General Officer Commanding of 56 Infantry Division, Staff of Assist Rehabilitation and Resettlement Organization, Colonel Coordinating of 56 Infantry Division, Commanding Officer 10 SLLI, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated for the event.
