56 Infantry Division bid farewell to its outgoing General Officer Commanding (GOC), Major General S.Kasthurimudali RSP ndc psc, on 19 October 2024. 56 Infantry Division extended the heartiest salute on his retirement at the end of more than 35 years of active service as one of the prominent person of the Sri Lanka Army.
The day’s programme commenced with the arrival of Major General S. Kasthurimudali RSP ndc psc was warmly welcomed by Colonel M S R Mohamed Lsc, Colonel Administration and Quartering followed by the Guard Turnout. The Colorful parade was reviewed by the outgoing General Officer Commanding, 56 Infantry Division accompanied by the Parade Commander together with Colonel R S Batagalla RSP, Colonel General Staff in accordance with military traditions.
Later, the outgoing GOC, 56 Infantry Division addressed All-Ranks before the culmination of the day event. Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers, Senior Officers, and Other Ranks participated in the day events.
