Major GeneralK N D Karunapala RSP ndu assumed duties as the 30th General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 56 Infantry Division in a simple ceremony held at the Division Headquarters on 02 December 2024. The event began with a warm welcome by Staff Officers, followed by a Guard Turnout and Guard of Honor presented by the troops of the 56 Infantry Division.
Amidst religious blessings, he signed the official document, symbolizing the acceptance of his new appointment. Then he posed for group photograph. The newly appointed GOC addressed the, sharing his vision for the division’s future. The event concluded where senior officers, officers, and other ranks joined together to commemorate the day.
