Taking another steps to enhance the welfare of people living in Wanni region, the General Officer Commanding of 56 Division Major General H P Senavirathne VSV USP ndu directed his troops to organise a medical campaign to facilitate hundreds of people living in Bogaswewa, Nandimitragama and Selalihinigama villages.
The medical clinic was sponsored by one of the philanthropic organisations on Sri Lanka, the Jayagrahanaya Foundation with the patronage of Dr Anula Wijesundara.
Over 120 villagers were treated through this medical campaign. As an additional welfare, members of Jayagrahanaya donated set of essential items such as Water pumps, Sewing machines, Bicycles to enhance the livelihood of these deprived villagers.
Senior Officers representing Headquarters 56 Division and its under command formations, representatives of some government institutions, members of Jayagrahanaya Foundation – Colombo and large number of villagers in Bogaswewa, Nandimitragama and Selalihinigama areas were present at the occasion.
