Sri Lanka Teachers’ Travel Club, Colombo with the coordination of 56 Division distributed 20 Bicycles to a group of needy students in Bogaswewa Maha Vidyalaya on 26 October 2018 during a ceremony held at the school premises.
This programme was organizedto facilitating students whotravell many miles daily on foot bearing great difficulties amid the hazard of wild elephants due to paucity of transportations. General Officer Commanding 56 Division Major General Prabath Dematampitiya ndu psc initiated this donation touplift the education of students in distant areas in Wanni region.
Event was organised by troops of 561 Brigade under thedirection of Commander 561 Brigade Colonel A C P Silva RWP RSP.
Commander Security Force Wanni, Major General Kumudu Perera RWP RSP VSV USP ndu graced the occasion as Chief Guest with the Chairperson of Sri Lanka Teachers’ Travel Club, Colombo Ms Niyoli De Alwis and Chief Executive Officer of ITN Mr. Chandhana Thilakarathna in attendance.
